Meet my first solid-wood cabinet - she's finished and is settled in at home! There's a lot I will do differently next time, but I learned so much. Big thank you to Robert Spiece and Katie Bister of The Woodworking School at Pine Croft for leading me through the process. I got much more comfortable with dovetails, hinges, and freehand routing.
Also, isn't this wood gorgeous?! Curly Cherry. Trees are amazing.

We were also shown around the shops at Berea Student Craft, which are dreamier than I could've imagined.
That Curly Cherry wood is breathtaking! Crafting a solid-wood piece like this with complex dovetails and hinges is no small feat, especially on a first build. It looks right at home, and seeing projects like this really highlights the incredible value of custom craftsmanship—whether it's building statement furniture or doing detailed cabinet refacing to bring out the natural warmth of wood throughout the home. Beautiful work
